Sega Sammy Holdings posted a profits and revenue boost for its nine months ending December 31, but confirmed Platinum’s Vanquish had fallen short of 1 million sales.

Sales went up 8.7 percent in the period to ¥310 billion. Profit was up to ¥63.0 billion, an 118.2 percent increase year-on-year.

The majority of the increases came from the firm’s amusements arm, with its videogame publishing department earning ¥67.4 billion in revenue and a profit of ¥2.8 billion.

For titles released in Q3 by the company, the three months ending December 31, Sega confirmed that the Shinji Mikami-directed Vanquish sold 820,000 copies, while Football Manager 2011 for PC and PSP sold 690,000 units.

Sonic Colours was the biggest seller in the period, with 1.85 million units sold.

Thanks, GI and Siliconera.
